— how to check whether it came true

In short

Weekly fortune is made from which Ten God the iljin of each of the week's 7 days is to your Day Master. Mutal Unnie locks in up to four forecasts for the coming week and sends them on Sunday evening, then compares them with your end-of-day mood log and gives you a report card of hits and misses. Days logged as "okay" or with no log are left out of the scoring.

How is weekly fortune made?

A Saju-based weekly fortune is made from which Ten God the iljin of each of the week's 7 days is to your Day Master. Iljin (日辰) is the pair of characters that changes every day, and the Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of your birth day. The same day becomes a different day for a different Day Master, so results vary far more from person to person than weekly fortunes by zodiac animal.

The iljin that serves as the ingredient is the same for everyone. Below are the iljin for the 4 weeks from October 5 to November 1, 2026. The small text is the element of that day's Heavenly Stem. Everything was calculated with Mutal Unnie's Saju engine.

For example, for a Gyeong (庚, Yang Metal) Day Master, this week Monday and Tuesday are Output stars (expression), Wednesday and Thursday are Wealth stars (results), Friday and Saturday are Officer stars (tension), and Sunday is a Resource star (replenishing). Mutal Unnie picks the Officer-star Friday and Saturday first, then adds Monday and Tuesday to lock in four forecasts. That means the Hangeul Day long weekend falls on tense days — knowing it in advance lets you keep your plans loose.

What criteria does Mutal Unnie use for weekly forecasts?

The criteria are public. Depending on which group the day's Heavenly Stem is to you, the forecast wording and direction are set, and the conditions for comparing it with your mood log are also fixed in advance.

The day's Heavenly Stem, to youOne-line forecastDirectionHit condition
Officer stars (Indirect/Direct Officer)A day that may feel tense — don't push yourselfDownThat day's log is 😞 "It was hard"
Output stars (Eating God/Hurting Officer)A day when expressing yourself goes wellUpThat day's log is 😊 "It was good"
Wealth stars (Indirect/Direct Wealth)A day when what you put in comes backUpThat day's log is 😊 "It was good"
Resource stars (Indirect/Direct Resource)A replenishing day — your energy picks upUpThat day's log is 😊 "It was good"
Companion stars (Companion · Rob Wealth)No forecast—Not scored

There are at most four forecasts a week. If you attach a comment to all seven days, it gets blurry what actually came true. Down days (Officer stars) are picked first because those are the ones you can prepare for if you know in advance. The meaning of each Ten God is in The Ten Gods.

Why do forecasts need to be locked in ahead of time?

Because a fortune that can be revised afterward can't be scored. A sentence like "There will be some change this week" reads as correct no matter what happens. So Mutal Unnie writes sentences with a set date and direction and locks them in before the week begins. For the same Saju and the same date, the forecast comes out the same no matter when it's calculated, so it can't be changed after seeing the results.

Scoring uses your end-of-day mood log. If you choose "It was hard" on a day forecast as down, it's a hit; if you choose "It was good," it's a miss. Days logged as "Okay" or with no log can't be judged, so they're left out of the record. How to keep a quick mood log is covered in How to keep a feelings journal.

How should I read a week that missed?

Leave it as it is. Missed forecasts stay on the report card as misses. If the forecast said things would be tense but you were fine, that means how you looked after yourself and your resilience counted for more than the calculation. That's the better news.

A fortune that only shows its hits always looks accurate. Only by keeping the misses too can you decide for yourself how much to trust it. I've written about this principle in detail in the Hit Ledger.

How do I use weekly fortune for my schedule?

Skim through next week once on Sunday evening, and start by not piling important appointments onto down days. Mutal Unnie sends next week's forecast together with last week's report card every Sunday evening. You can change the day and time you receive it in the Me tab.

There's one thing to do today. In the second table above, find the Officer cells in your Day Master's row and check whether you have anything scheduled on those days.

FAQ

What is weekly fortune based on?

It's based on which Ten God the iljin of each of the week's 7 days is to your Day Master. Even with the same iljin, a different Day Master makes it a different week.

How do I check whether a weekly fortune came true?

Forecasts are locked in ahead of time and compared with your end-of-day mood log. Days logged as "okay" or with no log are left out of the scoring.

Why are there only four forecasts a week?

If you attach a comment to every day, it gets blurry what actually came true. Companion and Rob Wealth days are left out, Officer-star days are picked first, and at most four are locked in.

When do I get my weekly fortune?

Every Sunday evening, you get next week's forecast and last week's report card. You can change the day and time in the Me tab.
